Nate's Monday Morning Message

Nate's Monday Morning Message

Happy Halloween! Welcome to this week’s Monday Morning Message. Ready or not, the holiday season is officially here, and hopefully cooler temperatures for the Valley of the Sun. As spooky as that may seem, the last two months of the year are full of opportunities - and there is still time to hit the goals you have set for yourself this year. Don’t put your life on cruise control through the holiday season! Let’s make it a great week!

5 Weird Things You Probably Didn’t Know About Hallowee

1. Originally, you had to dance for your treat. In European, the practice of “mumming” or “guysing” meant a costume-wearer would go door-to-door performing dances in exchange for treats.

2. Halloween is more Irish than St. Patrick’s Day. Halloween’s origin comes from a Celtic festival, and people would leave treats for the spirits that roamed the earth

3. Jack-o’-lanterns were once made out of turnips, beets and potatoes. Based on the myth of Stingy Jack, the Irish carved scary faces into these veggies to scare him away.

4. In 1898 Herman Goelitz Confectionary Company invented candy corn. Today, nearly 35 millin pounds of candy corn are produced each year.

5. Halloween was a great day to find your soulmate. In some parts of Ireland, people played romantic fortune-telling games, which allegedly predicted who they would marry.

“Acting is like a Halloween mask that you put on.” - River Phoenix

“I only eat candy on Halloween. No lie.” - Michael Trevino

“Being in a band you can wear whatever you want - it's like an excuse for Halloween every day.” - Gwen Stefani

“As a kid, there are some things you looked forward to. You looked forward to Charlie Brown during Halloween and you looked forward to Monday Night Football.” - Nick Ferguson

Nate's Monday Morning Message

Welcome to this week’s Monday Morning Message! I just returned from three full days of training in the beautiful city of Salt Lake, Utah. After thirty-one years of selling real estate, I have never stopped learning and honing my skills as a professional. What is that saying…if you aren’t learning, you are dying? Every day we are given opportunities to learn, no matter the industry or profession. What can you learn this week? Let’s make it count!

ENCOURAGEMENT CORNER

One man decided to reach for his dream. But he didn’t have enough strength to do it. So he turned to his mother. “Mother, help me!”

“Darling, I would be glad to help you, but I don’t have it. And everything I have, I already gave to you.”

He asked a wise man, “Master, tell me, where can I get strength?”

“It is said that, it is on the Everest. But I couldn’t find anything there, except the snowy winds. And when I came back, the time was irretrievably lost.”

He asked the hermit, “Holy Father, where to find the strength for realization of my dream?”

“In your prayers, my son. And if your dream is false, you will understand it and find peace in your prayers.” The person asked everyone, but the only result of his searches was confusion.

“Why are you so confused?” asked an old man passing by. “I have a dream, good man. But I don’t know where to find strength for its realization. I asked everyone, but there was no one who could help me.”

“No one?” A light flashed in the old man’s eyes, “And did you ask yourself?”

“Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learned in school. Albert Einstein
There is no end to education. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination, and finish with education. The whole of life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning.” - Jiddu Krishnamurti

“Learning is the beginning of wealth. Learning is the beginning of health. Learning is the beginning of spirituality. Searching and learning is where the miracle process all begins.” - Jim Rohn

Nate's Monday Morning Message

Welcome to this week’s Monday Morning Message! When I read this quote, I have a vision of a beautiful rose – a perfect shade of deep red and a sweet fragrance that is unique to a blooming rose. However, I know that if I try to pluck the flower I run the risk of sticking my hand with thorns that protect the rose bush. So how does this apply to life? I think it is simple: anything worth pursuing will have challenges to overcome. If you want to enjoy the roses, you have to be willing to navigate the thorns. Let’s make it a great week!

Welcome to this week’s Monday Morning Message! Today we are celebrating Indigenous Peoples' Day here in Phoenix, Arizona formerly known as Columbus Day. If you are taking the day off, I hope you’ll take a moment to remember those who discovered the lands we now call home.

I also wanted to invite you to a special event we have coming up on November 15th, details below. If you are ready to make a move, but unsure if now is a good time, you won’t want to miss this event! Let’s make it a great week!

Nate’s Monday Morning Message

Welcome to this week’s Monday Morning Message, and to the beginning of the fall which is the second-best time of year here in Arizona! As our days get shorter and the weather cools off, the fourth quarter is full of opportunity. Don’t put your goals and aspirations on cruise control. There is still plenty of time to buy a home, sell a home, go on a diet before the holidays, apply for a new job, buy a new car…you fill in the blank. There is still plenty of time. Let’s make it a great week!

ENCOURAGEMENT CORNER

"Crispy air and azure skies,
High above, a white cloud flies,
Bright as newly fallen snow.
Oh the joy to those who know October!
Colors bright on bush and tree.
Over the weedy swamp, we see
A veil of purple and brown and gold.
Thy beauty words have never told. October!
Scolding sparrows on the lawn,
Rabbits frisking home at dawn,
Pheasants midst the sheaves of grain,
All in harmony acclaim, October!
Brown earth freshly turned by plow,
Apples shine on bended bough,
Bins o'erflowed with oats and wheat,
And satisfaction reigns complete. October!
Radiant joy is everywhere.
Spirits in tune to the spicy air,
Thrill in the glory of each day.
Life's worth living when we say, October!"
-  Joseph Pullman Porter
