Nate's Monday Morning Message

by Nate Martinez

Nate’s Monday Morning Message

Welcome to this week’s Monday Morning Message…I hope that each of you reading this had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day celebration! It’s a new week, full of new opportunities. Let’s plan to do the things we must do and plan to do the things we want to do. Take control of your actions and emotions and put them both to good use to achieve your dreams.

Often we lose sight of the importance of right now, however it is a good reminder that now will never come again; so do not waste it. Sometimes we want to hurry through a task or project, and do not give it our all. But remember, this moment will never come again. Make the choice to be present at all times. Give it your all, every time, every day no matter what you are doing. Let’s make it a great week!

ENCOURAGEMENT CORNER

Ten Tips to Survive the Holiday Season:

  1. Keep your regular routine.
  2. Think moderation.
  3. Be realistic and try not to expect the “ideal” holiday.
  4. Stay connected.
  5. Throw guilt out the window.
  6. Don’t be alone, if you don’t want to be.
  7. Focus on today, not yesterday.
  8. Just say no.
  9. Ask for help.
  10. Be good to yourself.

WORDS OF INSPIRATION

“Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don't wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it's at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored.” - Earl Nightingale

“Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.” - Henry Ford

“Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.” - Steve Jobs

“The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.” - Leo Tolstoy

Nate's Monday Morning Message - Happy Thanksgiving!

by Nate Martinez

Nate’s Monday Morning Message

Welcome to this week’s Monday Morning Message…as we prepare for the upcoming Thanksgiving Day celebration, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for being a part of my community, and for continuing to open this email every Monday Morning. It is a privilege and a pleasure to serve the real estate industry and the 5,000+ families we have helped with their homeownership needs in the last thirty-two years. From my home to yours, let me be the first to wish each of you a very happy Thanksgiving. Let’s make it a great week!

ENCOURAGEMENT CORNER

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow." Written Melody Beattie

WORDS OF INSPIRATION

“Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough.” - Oprah Winfrey

“Thanksgiving is a time of togetherness and gratitude.” - Nigel Hamilton

“I am grateful for what I am and have. My thanksgiving is perpetual.” - Henry David Thoreau

“Thanksgiving is one of my favorite days of the year because it reminds us to give thanks and to count our blessings. Suddenly, so many things become so little when we realize how blessed and lucky we are.” - Joyce Giraud

Nate’s Monday Morning Message

Welcome to this week’s Monday Morning Message…today we honor those brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives so that we may call our great country, “Home of the Free.” To those who maybe reading this, that have served in the military, let me be the first today to say thank you. Without your service, we would not have this day to celebrate. Happy Veteran’s Day! Let’s make it a great week!

The Best on Earth: A Veteran's Day Tribute

Written by Joanna Fuchs

If someone has done military service,
They earn the title "veteran," and more;
They earn our deep respect and admiration;
That they are special no one can ignore.

They sacrificed the comforts we enjoy;
The list is long of all the things they gave.
Our veterans are extraordinary people;
They’re loyal, dedicated, true and brave.

When terror and invasion were real threats,
They showed us they could handle any storm.
We owe our freedoms and our very lives
To our veterans, who served in uniform.

Our veterans should be celebrities;
They’re exceptional; no other group compares.
We’re grateful for the many things they’ve done;
They’re always in our hearts and in our prayers.

We owe our veterans support and friendship;
Let no one ever question what they’re worth.
These men and women served us and our country,
Our veterans--the very best on earth.

WORDS OF INSPIRATION

In Loving Memory of Mark Parris of RE/MAX Renaissance

by Nate Martinez

In Loving Memory of Mark Parris of RE/MAX Renaissance

Losing a member of the RE/MAX family is always a heartbreaking loss for the whole company, and it is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved friend and colleague, Mark Parris.

Mark Taylor Parris, 44, passed away October 29th, 2018. He suffered from sleep apnea and passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home located in Peoria, Arizona. Mark was born October 12th, 1974 in Phoenix, Arizona to Eddy and Betty Parris. Mark was a 1992 graduate of Apollo High School and also attended Arizona State University.

In 2005, Mark and his father, Eddy, established and operated RE/MAX Renaissance Realty. Always promoting the success of others, Mark strove to create the family-oriented company it has become. With an infectious smile and heartfelt hugs, Mark had a gift for making people know they are valued. He was known for his deep love of others and his caring nature. In addition to his strong work ethics, Mark pursued many passions. At the young age of four he started playing hockey, which continued throughout his life. Mark’s other interests included performing and making music, golfing, performing magic tricks, enjoying the theater, mentoring and teaching others, giving back to the community, and above all, building and maintaining relationships with others.

Mark is survived by his father Eddy Parris, mother Betty Parris and stepfather Bill Nelson, sisters Kim Couture, Rhonda Albright, Michelle Parris, Jennifer Ayers, Chandra Black, and brothers Noah Parris and Eric Bauman, plus numerous extended family.

There has been an outpouring of love and support for Mark’s family and friends as his passing has deeply impacted his community. Friends and family of Mark are invited to join in the Celebration of Life service for him this Saturday, November 10th at the Dream City Church located at 21000 N 75th Ave. Glendale, AZ 85308. Viewing service begins at 11:00am, with services to start at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Mark’s name to his favorite charity, Phoenix Children's Hospital.

The Parris Family would love for friends and family to bring in a picture of themselves and Mark to the service, representing a favorite memory or a quote so that the family can view Mark through his friends’ eyes. They will have paper to write quotes on, and please make sure you write on the back of anything, so they know who shared the lovely memory.

Additionally, the RE/MAX Professionals family would like to offer our support to our friends at Renaissance to help and support Mark’s family during this difficult time. A Meal Train has been organized for his family.  Every effort makes a difference when tragedy strikes, so please click here if you would like to volunteer to provide a meal for the Parris family.

Mark was an incredible man and he will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and condolences are with the Parris family at this time.

Nate's Monday Morning Message

by Nate Martinez

Nate’s Monday Morning Message

Welcome to this week’s Monday Morning Message…this week and every week we have the opportunity to make the most from our relationships. When you think of all the things that you have to do today, tomorrow, and the next day, please remember that each one of these presents an opportunity for you.

It is not the people around us or the things that need to be done. It is the attitude we have and the reason we do what we do. We are all blessed with tremendous opportunity. What we do with it is completely up to us. Yes, there will be challenges; there always are. Yes, there may be disappointments; there sometimes is. Yes, there will be tremendous happiness. There will be if you decide that is what you want. Let us have fun in all we do and let us make the very most of each and every opportunity that comes our way. Let’s make it a great week!

ENCOURAGEMENT CORNER

Give Me the Wind by Craig Nicholson

I am at my best with the wind in my face,
When overcoming the challenge, with pace.
The pace that requires more effort, more strength.
But once gained momentum, endures with great length.

It's easy to sit back, placid and calm
Comfort is only a relative balm.
It seems an advantage, better than strife
But is dulled by stagnation, stifling life.

Progress needs movement, energy, drive,
No chance for improvement if you do not strive.
Nothing's for nothing: cause and effect.
That which you work for, you've more chance to get.

So give me the wind, let it blow in my face,
The more I confront, the more strength I'll embrace.
Steps are not mounted, nor challenge overcome.
Without certain courage or effort be done.

“Happiness doesn't depend on any external conditions, it is governed by our mental attitude.” - Dale Carnegie

“A healthy attitude is contagious but don't wait to catch it from others. Be a carrier.” - Tom Stoppard
