Nate's Monday Morning Message

Nate’s Monday Morning Message

Welcome to this edition of Nate’s Monday Morning Message. Today, I am heading out to this year’s RE/MAX Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. I have been to nearly every convention over the past thirty years and believe that part of my success as a REALTOR® is my commitment to education, and networking with other professionals from around the U.S. and the world.

There are literally thousands of opportunities that we have access to on a daily basis, that will educate us and help us develop as individuals. And with the Internet, the access is literally one swipe across our smart phones. This week, while I am in classes and networking, I would like to challenge you to do something that makes you smarter, better at your skill or explore something new that is of interest to you. If we aren’t learning, we are dying. Let’s make it a great week!

ENCOURAGEMENT CORNER

The Mountain

There were two warring tribes in the Andes, one that lived in the lowlands and the other high in the mountains. The mountain people invaded the lowlanders one day, and as part of their plundering of the people, they kidnapped a baby of one of the lowlander families and took the infant with them back up into the mountains.

The lowlanders didn't know how to climb the mountain. They didn't know any of the trails that the mountain people used, and they didn't know where to find the mountain people or how to track them in the steep terrain.

Even so, they sent out their best party of fighting men to climb the mountain and bring the baby home.

The men tried first one method of climbing and then another. They tried one trail and then another. After several days of effort, however, they had climbed only several hundred feet.

Feeling hopeless and helpless, the lowlander men decided that the cause was lost, and they prepared to return to their village below.

As they were packing their gear for the descent, they saw the baby's mother walking toward them. They realized that she was coming down the mountain that they hadn't figured out how to climb.

And then they saw that she had the baby strapped to her back. How could that be?

One man greeted her and said, "We couldn't climb this mountain. How did you do this when we, the strongest and most able men in the village, couldn't do it?"

She shrugged her shoulders and said, "It wasn't your baby."

Nate's Monday Morning Message

Nate’s Monday Morning Message

Welcome to this edition of Nate’s Monday Morning Message. I hope all of you had a fantastic weekend filled with activities that most enjoy! This week, as we work to improve ourselves both personally and professionally, let us keep in mind that the world is full of mirrors. We will see in ourselves what we put out to the world and we will get what we give to others. Put out good, and more good will come. Put out bad, and more bad will come. Start your day with an attitude of gratitude, and you will multiple the good that already exists in your life. Focus your attention on that which you lack, or do not like in your life, the more that you will find exactly that – what you don’t want. Adjust your focus. What do you want to see? Let’s make it a great week!

ENCOURAGEMENT CORNER

House Of 1,000 Mirrors

Long ago in a small, far away village, there was place known as the House of 1,000 Mirrors. A small, happy little dog learned of this place and decided to visit. When he arrived, he bounced happily up the stairs to the doorway of the house. He looked through the doorway with his ears lifted high and his tail wagging as fast as it could. To his great surprise, he found himself staring at 1,000 other happy little dogs with their tails wagging just as fast as his. He smiled a great smile and was answered with 1,000 great smiles just as warm and friendly. As he left the House, he thought to himself, "This is a wonderful place. I will come back and visit it often.” Author Unknown

Nate's Monday Morning Message

Nate’s Monday Morning Message

Welcome to this edition of Nate’s Monday Morning Message. I hope you had a great weekend filled with fun and relaxation. We spent the weekend celebrating my daughter, Mila who turned eight years old. I am truly blessed to be surrounded by so many people who have touched my life, especially my family. The road has not always been easy, but I am truly grateful for every opportunity I have been given. I have learned many things over the years and the one I think we all forget from time to time is be grateful for what we already have and the people in our lives.

I am sure there are people in your life that you are grateful for. Where would you be if these people were not in your life? What would you be if you didn’t have them to lean on, and to learn from? I believe that the point of life is not the collection of material things, but rather the collection of moments that help and change others. The people in your life are there for a reason. Take notice and be thankful and grateful for them each and every day. Thank you to each and every one of you reading this. Let’s make it a great week!

ENCOURAGEMENT CORNER

A small boy was walking along a beach at low tide, where countless starfish, having been washed up on the beach, were stranded and doomed to perish. A man watched as the boy picked up individual starfish and took them back into the water.

"I can see you're being very kind," said the watching man, "But there must be thousands of them; it can't possibly make any difference."

Returning from the water's edge, the boy said, "It will for that one." - author unknown

Nate’s Monday Morning Message

Welcome to this edition of Nate’s Monday Morning Message…what a great game last night!!! This morning I looked up the definition for “underdog” and it literally means, “a competitor who has little chance of winning.” I am sure each of you reading this has had a moment in your life when you too have felt like the underdog. But what separates the winners from the losers? Those who go home with the trophy and those who do not? Preparation + mindset + hard work = success. The “underdog” doesn’t have to stay an underdog. What can you do to today to prepare yourself for the big win? Let’s make it a great week!

ENCOURAGEMENT CORNER

Wishing

Do you wish the World were better?
Let me tell you what to do:

Set a watch upon your actions,
Keep them always straight and true.
Rid your mind of selfish motives,
Let your thoughts be clean and high.
You can make a little Eden
Of the sphere you occupy.

Do you wish the World were wiser?
Then suppose you make a start,

By accumulating wisdom
In the scrap book of your heart.
Do not waste one page on folly;
Live to learn and learn to live.
If you want to give men knowledge
You must get it ere you give.

Do you wish the World were happy?
Then remember day by day,

Just to scatter seeds of kindness,
As you pass along the way.
For the pleasures of the many,
May be oft times traced to one.
As the hand that plants an acorn,
Shelters armies from the sun.

Poet: Ella Wheeler Wilcox
