RE/MAX Celebrates More Than $128 Million in Total Donations

RE/MAX Celebrates More Than $128 Million in Total Donations

I am proud to share with you that RE/MAX has made a mark - $8.2 million in contributions to the nonprofit organization, Children’s Miracle Network. The partnership between RE/MAX International and CMN began in 1992 and has continuously grown since. To date, RE/MAX agents across the United States and Canada have donated more than $128 million to help this tremendous organization.

"More than 20 years ago, we aligned with an organization that shared the same deeply rooted value of family," said Gail Liniger, RE/MAX Co-Founder and Vice Chair. "The millions of families our agents have helped Children's Miracle Network Hospitals reach is beyond what we ever imagined."

In 2011, founders Dave and Gail Liniger were awarded the Children’s Miracle Network Founders Award. Only six other individuals have received this award, which recognizes North America’s greatest leaders, ranging from CMN Hospital board members and CEOs to fundraising experts.

"RE/MAX Miracle Agents are exceptional because they incorporate the spirit of giving into each business transaction, raising funds year-round," said John Lauck, President and CEO, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. "Our hospitals are benefiting tremendously from the $8.2 million raised in 2012, and we're thrilled to start our 30th year on a high note."

Today, RE/MAX has grown with nearly 90,000 agents and a global reach across more than 85 countries. As a proud contributor to the Children’s Miracle Home Program© I am thrilled to share this huge accomplishment. My team and I have been long-time supporters of CMN and have donated thousands of commission dollars over the years to the local Phoenix Children’s Hospital. When my niece needed specialty care two years ago, the doctors and nurses at PCH were there to help her.  It is comforting to know that, in our local community, we have a world-renowned hospital in our backyard with the national support of thousands.

For every home you buy or sell through my team, a portion of our commission is donated to Phoenix Children’s Hospital to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network. The donation is made in your name and the money we contribute stays here in our local hospital. As a company, RE/MAX Professionals has twice been awarded the CMN award for the largest contribution in our region. We believe strongly in the importance of community – and taking care of our youngest members is among our highest priorities! Nate

Nate's Monday Morning Message

by Nate Martinez

Nate's Monday Morning Message

Welcome to this edition of Nate's Monday Morning Message. This week and every week we have the opportunity to focus our energy, passion, and actions towards what we truly want. We have the ability to chip away and eliminate the unproductive time. We have the ability to chip away and eliminate the excuses we have and to stop pointing fingers. We have the ability to make of our lives what WE choose and to finally realize if we are not growing we are dying.

Make this the week you get on course or make this the week you put your actions into overdrive. You can do it I am confident. The first and most important thing that separates you from happiness, success, joy, or fulfillment is the CHOICE to do it. Make your choice now. Be determined now. Take the risk now. Time is flying by and the choice is yours. Let's Make This The Best Week Of The Year!

5 Things to Consider When Making Decisions:

1. Value is in the eye of the beholder:
How much is a gallon of water worth? Well, if you're reading this, you can probably get a gallon of water for pennies from your kitchen tap. Yet, if you were dying of thirst in a desert, you'd happily pay a hundred bucks for it, right? On the other hand, you'd pay a hundred bucks an hour for a plumber to avoid the water being there in the first place (in your flooded basement, that is).

Many people believe value is intrinsic to an object. Sure, water is water is water, but its value varies enormously depending on what you need it for. Decision making is a very personal business - it's about assessing what's valuable to you. There's no absolute best job, best car or best life to be lived: value is in the eye of the decision maker.

2. Know your goals before choosing:
As we've seen in insight #1 above, no decision outcomes are intrinsically 'good' or 'bad' - the outcome depends on who you ask, and there are never absolute answers. How do you make sure you're making the best decision for your life, then?

It may sound obvious at first, but it all boils down to your goals - knowing what you want out of the decision.

3. Your decision outcome can be no better than your best alternative:
Many people see decision making as an analytical process that, if done right, is guaranteed to lead to nice outcomes. They believe that if they just think hard and long enough, great outcomes will result from their decisions.

The truth is: no matter how much effort you put in, no decision outcome can be better than the best alternative you considered. And no amount of analysis or systematic thinking will change that.

4. Make effort proportional to importance:
The more important a decision is, the more time you should spend on it. 'Duh, that's just common sense,' you say. Well, just like with many other things in life, common sense does not equal common practice.

Here's what often happens: we spend time on decisions not based on how important they are, but on how difficult they are. These are two very different concepts.

5. Taking a structured approach makes a big difference:
Making great decisions is a process that involves many unique and diametrically-opposite "thinking modes". For instance, to generate good alternatives, you must be creative and non-judgmental. But to ultimately make up your mind, you need to be judgmental. Knowing when to switch thinking modes is important, and it's too easy to get it wrong.

In that context, I strongly advise that you see the decision making process as a chain of separate steps. Isolate each step, going into different thinking modes in turn in order to make the best possible decision.

Bellissima Casa da Sogno!

by Nate Martinez

Bellissima Casa da Sogno!

Located in the exclusive gated community of Copper Creek Estates, this one-of-a-kind custom home is sitting on well-over an acre lot with amenities that you just don’t find every day. Oozing with old world charm, you’ll be led by brick pavers to the rustic courtyard which opens to the formal dining and family rooms with sliding glass pocket doors.

With 12,303 square feet there is quite literally something for every need you can think of. From the craft room, complete with built-in cabinets, granite counters and sink station…to the entertainer’s delight play room…to the elegantly designed library…to the finished basement which has an Irish Pub Style bar with green buffed onyx counters, game room and private movie theater…and that is just for starters.

It’s obvious at first glance, that this home screams posh style and a taste for quality, especially when it comes to good eats. The gourmet kitchen will not disappoint your demanding culinary needs, with premium Wolf Ovens, 6 gas burner range complete with grill and a built-in subzero refrigerator and freezer. Oh but wait, those are just the practical features – let’s not forget about the sinfully gorgeous cabinetry in two different woods, plus a copper stamped backsplash, two islands, one with Brazilian Walnut Wood and the other with granite and convenient breakfast bar seating. The kitchen design also includes a formal dining room, Butler’s pantry and a cozy breakfast nook.

With 8 bedrooms and 9 ½ baths, throughout the home is floor to ceiling faux paint and each room has its own elevation and hand-painted accents. The seller spared no expense with 7,500 square feet of premium wood floors which are ¾ inch thick and 7 ¾ inches wide. Other interior amenities include, wood beamed ceilings, custom window treatments, upgraded lighting package, Boveda ceilings and a secondary wet bar on the main floor with gold and white onyx polished counters and wood trim.

Although, it may feel a bit like sensory overload, we have yet to tour the master’s quarters. Remnant of a setting in an upscale resort, this master retreat will leave your taste buds salivating. Rich, comforting tones and elegant faux paint combined with quality craftsmanship at every turn, you’ll also appreciate the functionality and solid design. The features include a private laundry room, jetted soaking tub, his-and-hers vanities, built-in closet storage space galore and a walk-in shower that is to die for. Relaxing after a long day is made easy with a private wet bar and a two-way fireplace which gives you the option of lounging in the sitting area or bedside.

Accessible from the master suite is the covered patio…which could be quiet arguably the best patio this side of the Mississippi. Overlooking the pool and spa, the patio floor is stone and the ceilings made of dark wood. The pillars and walls are adorned with real stone, which gives this patio the look and feel of a vintage countryside villa in Italy.

The massive rock waterfall over the heated saltwater pool laps into a negative edge feature which bauds well with the separate spa and sunken fire pit seating area. Extensive stone and brick accent the lush landscaping. It is true that the magnificent pool is the focal point of the backyard, but beyond that is the lush greens that make up the rest of the grounds. With 48,454 square feet of land, there is a putting green and large open grassy space suitable for a multitude of outdoor activities.

Also within the grounds of Bellissima Casa da Sogno is plenty of parking to meet your sports and recreation needs and a full guest house with a separate front entrance. There is room for four vehicles plus an RV garage and loads of additional storage space. And the one bedroom, one bath guest house has a fully functional kitchen and living area plus access through the garage.

If you are worried about your need for technology or your carbon foot print, don’t be. Designed to be a SMART Home, there are five air conditioning units and a “pre-cooled” system that provides instant comfort and the utmost energy efficiency. With just one remote, everything is controlled and accessible via a computer or television…programming the pool, lights or sound is literally a click away with this state-of-the-art home system.

Translated to English, Bellissima Casa da Sogno means “beautiful dream home”…sort of has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it? For a private tour and the chance to purchase one of Peoria’s exclusive custom estates, please contact me today. This is a rare opportunity that simply will not last long.

RE/MAX National Housing Report for March

by Nate Martinez

RE/MAX National Housing Report for March

In February, both home sales and prices rose higher than a year ago. After a decisive housing turnaround in 2012, this year looks to improve on recovering market trends. With data representing 52 metropolitan areas, the February RE/MAX National Housing Report shows home sales 2.3% greater than February 2012 and a median price 7.0% higher.

Still a concern is the number of available homes for sale, which continues to shrink, turning the market more favorable to sellers. Home inventory fell 29.2% from last year, resulting in a 4.8-month supply. In only the second month of the year, real estate agents are already seeing renewed consumer interest and are expecting increased traffic in the next few months.

As home prices recover in 2013, more homeowners will achieve positive equity and the number of foreclosures should be reduced. The current recovery has not yet brought housing back to pre-crisis levels, but appears on its way to a more stable and sustainable environment.

“It’s clear that the housing recovery is real and is moving full-speed ahead into 2013,” said Margaret Kelly, CEO of RE/MAX, LLC. “Consumers recognize that we’ve hit the bottom, and real estate is offering some great opportunities with low prices and low interest rates. This is an attractive combination that most of us will never see again in our lifetimes.”

Nate's Monday Morning Message

by Nate Martinez

Nate's Monday Morning Message

Welcome to this edition of Nate's Monday Morning Message. This week and every week we have the opportunity to forgive and leave in the past. There have been things that have happened that you may not have liked or you may not be proud of, but one of the most important actions that will lead to your future success is to forgive and leave those negative situations in the past.

Your future is not determined by your actions of yesterday, but rather by your actions today and tomorrow and the next day. Yes you will need to work hard, be determined, keep learning, surround yourself with great people, but you must also free yourself to be the success that you choose to be. Make that decision today and take those steps necessary every day going forward to reach that success you deserve. Let's Make This The Best Week Of The Year!

10 Amazing Lessons from Albert Einstein:

1. Follow Your Curiosity
“I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.”

What piques your curiosity? I am curious as to what causes one person to succeed while another person fails; this is why I’ve spent years studying success. What are you most curious about? The pursuit of your curiosity is the secret to your success.

2. Perseverance is Priceless
“It's not that I'm so smart; it's just that I stay with problems longer.”

Through perseverance the turtle reached the ark. Are you willing to persevere until you get to your intended destination? They say the entire value of the postage stamp consist in its ability to stick to something until it gets there. Be like the postage stamp; finish the race that you’ve started!

3. Focus on the Present
“Any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply not giving the kiss the attention it deserves.”

My father always says you cannot ride two horses at the same time. I like to say, you can do anything, but not everything. Learn to be present where you are; give your all to whatever you’re currently doing. Focused energy is power, and it’s the difference between success and failure.

4. The Imagination is Powerful
“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions. Imagination is more important than knowledge.”

Are you using your imagination daily? Einstein said the imagination is more important than knowledge! Your imagination pre-plays your future. Einstein went on to say, “The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge, but imagination.” Are you exercising your “imagination muscles” daily, don’t let something as powerful as your imagination lie dormant.

5. Make Mistakes
“A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.”

Never be afraid of making a mistake. A mistake is not a failure. Mistakes can make you better, smarter and faster, if you utilize them properly. Discover the power of making mistakes. I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again, if you want to succeed, triple the amount of mistakes that you make.

6. Live in the Moment
“I never think of the future - it comes soon enough.”

The only way to properly address your future is to be as present as possible “in the present.” You cannot “presently” change yesterday or tomorrow, so it’s of supreme importance that you dedicate all of your efforts to “right now.” It’s the only time that matters, it’s the only time there is.

7. Create Value
“Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value."

Don’t waste your time trying to be successful, spend your time creating value. If you’re valuable, then you will attract success. Discover the talents and gifts that you possess, learn how to offer those talents and gifts in a way that most benefits others. Labor to be valuable and success will chase you down.

8. Don’t Expect Different Results
“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

You can’t keep doing the same thing every day and expect different results. In other words, you can’t keep doing the same workout routine and expect to look differently. In order for your life to change, you must change, to the degree that you change your actions and your thinking is to the degree that your life will change.

9. Knowledge Comes From Experience
“Information is not knowledge. The only source of knowledge is experience.”

Knowledge comes from experience. You can discuss a task, but discussion will only give you a philosophical understanding of it; you must experience the task first hand to “know it.” What’s the lesson? Get experience! Don’t spend your time hiding behind speculative information, go out there and do it, and you will have gained priceless knowledge.

10. Learn the Rules and Then Play Better
“You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.”

To put it all in simple terms, there are two things that you must do. The first thing you must do is to learn the rules of the game that you’re playing. It doesn’t sound exciting, but it’s vital. Secondly, you must commit to play the game better than anyone else. If you can do these two things, success will be yours!

“Before everything else, getting ready is the secret of success” ~ Henry Ford
“The secret of success is consistency of purpose.” ~ Benjamin Disraeli
“People become really quite remarkable when they start thinking that they can do things. When they believe in themselves they have the first secret of success.” ~ Norman Vincent Peale
“The secret of your success is hidden in your daily habits.” ~ Mike Murdock
“The secret to success is to start from scratch and keep on scratching.” ~ Dennis Green
“The secret of success is learning how to use pain and pleasure instead of having pain and pleasure use you. If you do that, you’re in control of your life. If you don’t, life controls you.” ~ Anthony Robbins

In Times of Trouble

By: Clay Harrison

Often in times of trouble
we don't know what to say,
So we choose to say nothing,
and sometimes run away.

When friends are really hurting,
we don't know what to do,
So we offer weak excuses
or say we're hurting too.

It really doesn't matter
what kind of gift we bring;
We only need to be there
if we don't bring a thing.

It truly is amazing
what a hug can do,
When heartache numbs the senses,
and friends depend on you.

There's comfort just in knowing
that you are not alone,
When tears are overflowing,
and hearts are cold as stone.

It's the loving prayers of others
that balance our accounts,
For when we measure love,
it's still the thought that counts.
