Social Media Contest: Chance to Win $10,000

Today, RE/MAX is launching a nine-week, multi-platform social media contest by asking consumers, "What Moves You?" If YOUR story is compelling enough, you could win one of eight weekly prizes and a grand prize of $10,000! 

What moves people? Pivotal moments do. It’s when they get married. Or find a job that’s not in their city. It’s when they learn they’re having a baby. Or when their kids leave home and their house feels empty and way too big. The RE/MAX National advertising campaign focuses on these pivotal moments, and the contest gives consumers the opportunity to develop a more personal connection to the messages.

If you are interested in sharing your story, you can upload directly to the contest website at www.whatmovesyou.remax.com. 

How it works
The contest will run for nine weeks, and consumers will be entered when they submit one or a combination of the following:

  • Story (500 words maximum)
  • Video (3 minutes or less; must provide a YouTube or other video-sharing link)
  • Photo (JPG, BMP, PNG, GIF or TIFF not to exceed 10MB)
  • What moves them (whether emotionally or from one place to another) has to be compelling enough to move other consumers, too, because consumers vote!

The ongoing voting will determine eight weekly winners (tallied Monday through Sunday) and ultimately the grand-prize winner -- named after the final grand-prize voting week, which ends Aug. 1, 2012. The weekly prize is a $750 Apple gift card. Of course, the prize for the most moving entry is $10,000. That's some serious motivation! AND there's an added incentive to help kids. For each story submitted, RE/MAX LLC will donate $1 to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals! Full contest rules and eligibility guidelines will be available on the contest website.

Who can participate?
The "What Moves You?" contest is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and Washington, D.C. who are 18 (19 in AL & NE) years of age and older at the time of entry. Employees, officers, directors and agents of RE/MAX, LLC, RE/MAX regions and RE/MAX franchises and their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, and advertising promotional agencies, and members of the immediate family or persons living in the same household of such individuals, are ineligible to participate or win a prize.

As we approach the Memorial Day weekend, I would like to take a moment to honor those courageous men and women who have and continue to serve in our United States Armed Forces. Hi Nate, just a quick note about our short sale experience with your office. When we first contacted your office we were pretty much at the end of our rope. After a failed 6 month attempt at trying to modify our loan our home was quickly going into foreclosure and we believed that there was no other option. Our meeting with you and your explanation and assurance that we could do a short sale of our home gave us some hope. We were still a little skeptical but hopeful.

Our meeting with Jaime gave us an even greater sense of hope and her reassurance that she could get the job done and stop the foreclosure process made us feel less stressed and not so lost.
