Freedoms’ Memorial by Del “Abe” Jones

This day is set aside to honor those who took the chance to die. But they have died in vain if we ever forget the reason why. Freedom can be like time slipping away before we even know. But we all have the choice more, a duty to battle freedoms’ foe. Let us give thanks this day to all those brave who paid the highest cost. Not take it for granted and realize it easily could be lost.

Remember our fallen heroes today and every day…wishing you a happy, healthy and safe holiday. Let’s make this the best week of the year!

Nate's Monday Message 

Welcome to this edition of Nate’s Monday Morning Message. I hope each and every one of you had a fantastic weekend filled with laughs, relaxation, and some fun. 

Are we really making the best use of our time each and every day? Are there times when if we planned a little better we could get more done? Do we wish we had more time to spend on the things we truly love? There is a solution, and you all can accomplish this. 

Set a goal, create a plan, and then accomplish it. This will be our challenge for this week. If you found 30 minutes a day, what would you do with it? Think long and hard about this answer as this will be what you think about while figuring out what you can change around, do differently, or eliminate from your schedule. Time is the one thing that is equal among all of us. How we use it is what makes all the difference in the world. Use it wisely for once it is gone it can never be replaced. Let’s make this the best week of the year!

ENCOURGEMENT CORNER

Big Rocks

Just something to think about...

One day, an expert in time management was speaking to a group of business students and, to drive home a point, used an illustration those students will never forget.

As he stood in front of the group of high-powered overachievers he said, "Okay, time for a quiz" and he pulled out a one-gallon, wide-mouth Mason jar and set it on the table in front of him.

He also produced about a dozen fist-sized rocks and carefully placed them, one at a time, into the jar. When the jar was filled to the top and no more rocks would fit inside, he asked, "Is this jar full?"

Everyone in the class yelled, "Yes."

The time management expert replied, "Really?"

He reached under the table and pulled out a bucket of gravel. He dumped some gravel in and shook the jar causing pieces of gravel to work themselves down into the spaces between the big rocks.

He then asked the group once more, "Is the jar full?"

By this time the class was on to him. "Probably not," one of them answered.

"Good!" he replied. He reached under the table and brought out a bucket of sand. He started dumping the sand in the jar and it went into all of the spaces left between the rocks and the gravel.

Once more he asked the question, "Is this jar full?"

"No!" the class shouted. Once again he said, "Good."

Then he grabbed a pitcher of water and began to pour it in until the jar was filled to the brim. Then he looked at the class and asked,

"What is the point of this illustration?"

One eager beaver raised his hand and said, 
"The point is, no matter how full your schedule is, if you try really hard you can always fit some more things in it!"

"No," the speaker replied, "that's not the point.”

The truth this illustration teaches us is if you don't put the big rocks in first, you'll never get them in at all.

What are the 'big rocks' in your life? Time with your loved ones, your faith, your education, your dreams, a worthy cause, teaching, or complimenting others? Remember to put these BIG ROCKS in first or you'll never get them in at all. So, tonight, or in the morning, when you are reflecting on this short story, ask yourself this question: What are the 'big rocks' in my life? Then, put those in your jar first.

Welcome to Nate’s Monday Morning Message…I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing weekend. As we prepare ourselves for a great week, let us keep in mind that what we choose to do with our time is completely up to us. We can choose to be in a great mood or we can choose not to. We can choose to focus on the things in our lives we have control over or we can choose not to. We can choose to work harder, smarter, and more creatively than our competition or we can choose not to. What do you have control over and what will you do about it? The wonderful thing about life is that it is all up to us. Focus on actions and the results will follow. Let’s make this the best week of the year!
