Nate’s Monday Morning Message

by Nate Martinez

Nate’s Monday Morning Message

My inspiration for this week’s Monday Morning Message comes from my one year-old boxer, Lucy. After attending a three week “boot camp” we are now enrolled in advance classes. Who knew training a dog would take this much time and effort?? Lucy has reminded me, that anything in life worth doing requires commitment and consistency...and this applies to training a dog or running a business. Your goals require that you stay committed and consistent. That means you must take action daily. What can you do this week to be proactive and intentional? What steps can you make towards your goals? Who can you enlist for help or support? I challenge each of you to refocus and recommit to your goals today. Commitment and consistency are the key ingredients that results in the outcome we desire. Let’s make it a great week!

WORDS OF ENCOURAGMENT

When training a dog, you must have a good sense of humor. I hope you enjoy this cute video of Daisy and Copper…who doesn’t love ice cream?

INSPIRATIONAL QUOTES

“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than you love yourself.” - Josh Billings

“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” - Walt Disney

“Before you get a dog, you can't quite imagine what living with one might be like; afterward, you can't imagine living any other way.” - Caroline Knapp

“To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.” - Anatole France

“If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.” - Henry David Thoreau

Let’s make it a great week! Nate

June Home Sales and Prices Best Yet in 2015

by Nate Martinez

June Home Sales and Prices Best Yet in 2015

The number of June home sales was the highest of any month since the RE/MAX National Housing Report began in 2008. This year’s home sales have now experienced a five-month trend in which sales have been higher than both the previous month and the same month in the previous year. Completed transactions in June were 14.3 percent higher than in May and 12.0 percent higher than in June 2014.

“Despite a lingering low inventory and increasing prices, consumers still have the confidence to purchase a home. More and more people recognize the many opportunities in this market and the significant value of low interest rates. As job creation and wages continue to improve, many more first-time buyers are now making the decision to become homeowners.” Dave Liniger, RE/MAX CEO, Chairman of the Board and Co-Founder

The Median Sales Price of a home sold in June was $224,671, which was 7.4 percent above the price seen in June 2014. The inventory of homes for sale also continued a positive trend, with a 0.8 percent increase over the inventory in May. With a growing rate of home sales, the resulting Months Supply of inventory in June still favors sellers at 3.6 on a scale where 6.0 months indicates a market balanced equally between buyers and sellers.

Nate's Monday Morning Message

by Nate Martinez

Nate’s Monday Morning Message

Welcome to this week’s edition of Nate’s Monday Morning Message…we are about half way through the summer month’s here in Arizona and the monsoon season is upon us. This time of year provides much needed water for the desert and some incredible sunsets. Take a few minutes in the evening to appreciate the awe-inspiring clouds and vivid colors that fill our sky…it truly is magnificent and a perfect reminder of the simple blessings that surround us every day. We often stare at a door that has closed for too long and in the process miss the one that has opened. Don’t take for granted the simple beauties in life, as they pave the way to finding a deeper meaning to happiness. Take time to appreciate all the good in your life, and make each moment count! Let’s have a great week!

WORDS OF ENCOURAGMENT

A Fish Stranded in a Drying Puddle

Once there was a fellow walking along a road. Suddenly he heard a faint cry. He looked around but saw nothing. Thinking he heard nothing, he continued to walk. Again he heard the faint cry. This time the call was nearby. He searched high and low, and found the sound was coming out of a little fish lying in a drying pond. His mouth gurgling. That person looked at the fish strangely and asked,

"Was that you who was just calling me? Was it you needing my help?"

The small fish looking pleading at the man gasping and breathless said, "Please save me quickly, I am dying, I need water. I am not a normal fish, rather I am the eastern sea dragon's official. Please give me a little water." That person hearing this hurriedly nodded his head and said, "I understand, I will immediately go to the south and let the southern king redirect a river to here so that you can swim and return to the eastern sea." The fish angrily cried out, "Can a fish live out of water? I am only in need of a little water. Your idea is pointless. I think that the next time you see me will be in a shop that sells dried fish. "

The story tells us to reconsider solutions that we usually propose to solve real life problems. Sometimes we take our time too much to find the most ideal solution, while what the problem really needs is time critical solution.

We must always aware that many times in our lives we don't need the best solution but some quick fixes for the current situation to prevent it of becoming worse. Only until then, we have much more time to think and find the ideal solution.

Nate's Monday Morning Message

by Nate Martinez

Nate's Monday Morning Message

Welcome to this week’s edition of Nate’s Monday Morning Message...it only takes seven seconds to form a prejudice based on someone’s appearance. From a young age, we are taught to assess or judge situations to determine whether they are good or bad.

This video is a powerful reminder that we all come from different places, have different passions, different fears, different looks but we all the same when we strip away the exterior label. This week I would like to challenge each of you to get out of judgement and into curiosity…remove the label and make this the best week of the year!

WORDS TO LIVE BY

“It is time for parents to teach young people early on that in diversity there is beauty and there is strength.” - Maya Angelou

“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” - Mahatma Gandhi

“Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.” - Leo Tolstoy

“We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves.” - Dalai Lama

“The most violent element in society is ignorance.” - Emma Goldman

Let's make this the best week of the year - Nate

RE/MAX National Housing Report: May Home Sales and Prices Continue to Rise

Home sales in May were greater than in any other May since the RE/MAX National Housing Report began in 2008. This spring has now experienced a four–month trend in which sales were higher than both the previous month and the same month in the previous year. Completed transactions in May were 8.9% higher than in April and 3.5% higher than in May 2014. The Median Sales Price of a home sold in May was $212,910, which was 7.8% above the price seen in May 2014. The inventory of homes for sale also continued a positive trend‚ with a 0.4% increase from April’s inventory. With a growing rate of home sales, the resulting Months Supply of Inventory in May was 3.6 on a scale where 6.0 months indicates a market balanced equally between buyers and sellers.

"Many positive factors are contributing to a strong housing market this year. Job growth and wages are slowly improving, while rents are increasing rapidly and mortgages are becoming much more accessible. When these factors are coupled with continuing low interest rates, the result is a growing number of consumers with the confidence to buy or sell a home." Dave Liniger, RE/MAX, LLC CEO, Chairman and Co-Founder

Happy Fourth of July

by Nate Martinez

Happy Fourth of July

Tomorrow is the day we celebrate our great nation…from the stars and stripes, to the BBQs and fireworks, the Fourth of July is a day to reflect and appreciate where we have come from and where we will go in the future. When I think of the Fourth of July I think of leadership, freedom, opportunity…and I think of the brave men and women who selflessly defend our right to pursue what makes us happy.

“This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.” Thank you to those who have served and those who continue to serve. On behalf of my team and my family, we want to wish you a very happy, healthy and safe Fourth of July weekend. Nate
