Nate's Monday Morning Message

by Nate Martinez

Nate’s Monday Morning Message

Welcome to this week’s Monday Morning Message. One of the most important things we can do to grow and become better is to expand our comfort zone. Let us start today!

Each time you step out of your comfort zone, you are turning the unknown into the known. You are learning new things about life and about yourself. You are giving yourself new opportunities for growth. The more you step out of your comfort zone, the more you will be confident in taking those steps. This will create a great feeling that will encourage you to step out of your comfort zone more often. Let us understand that we must be uncomfortable to eventually be truly comfortable. Let’s make it a great week!

ENCOURAGEMENT CORNER

20 Reasons Why Smart People Fail

1.)  Lack of motivation. A talent is irrelevant if a person is not motivated to use it. Motivation may be external (for example, social approval) or internal (satisfaction from a job well-done, for instance). External sources tend to be transient, while internal sources tend to produce more consistent performance.

2.) Lack of impulse control. Habitual impulsiveness gets in the way of optimal performance. Some people do not bring their full intellectual resources to bear on a problem but go with the first solution that pops into their heads.

3.) Lack of perseverance and preservation. Some people give up too easily, while others are unable to stop even when the quest will clearly be fruitless.

4.) Using the wrong abilities. People may not be using the right abilities for the tasks in which they are engaged.

5.) Inability to translate thought into action. Some people seem buried in thought. They have good ideas but rarely seem able to do anything about them.

6.) Lack of product orientation. Some people seem more concerned about the process than the result of activity.

7.) Inability to complete tasks. For some people nothing ever draws to a close. Perhaps it’s fear of what they would do next or fear of becoming hopelessly enmeshed in detail.

8.) Failure to initiate. Still others are unwilling or unable to initiate a project. It may be indecision or fear of commitment.

9.) Fear of failure. People may not reach peak performance because they avoid the really important challenges in life.

10.) Procrastination. Some people are unable to act without pressure. They may also look for little things to do in order to put off the big ones.

11.) Mis-attribution of blame. Some people always blame themselves for even the slightest mishap. Some always blame others.

12.) Excessive self-pity. Some people spend more time feeling sorry for themselves than expending the effort necessary to overcome the problem.

13.) Excessive dependency. Some people expect others to do for them what they ought to be doing themselves.

14.) Wallowing in personal difficulties. Some people let their personal difficulties interfere grossly with their work. During the course of life, one can expect some real joys and some real sorrows. Maintaining a proper perspective is often difficult.

15.) Distractions and lack of concentration. Even some very intelligent people have very short attention spans.

16.) Spreading oneself too thin or too thick. Undertaking too many activities may result in none being completed on time. Undertaking too few can also result in missed opportunities and reduced levels of accomplishment.

17.) Inability to delay gratification. Some people reward themselves and are rewarded by others for finishing small tasks, while avoiding bigger tasks that would earn them larger rewards.

18.) Inability to see the forest for the trees. Some people become obsessed with details and are either unwilling or unable to see or deal with the larger picture in the projects they undertake.

19.) Lack of balance between critical, analytical thinking and creative, synthetic thinking. It is important for people to learn what kind of thinking is expected of them in each situation.

20.) Too little or too much self-confidence. Lack of self-confidence can gnaw away at a person’s ability to get things done and become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Conversely, individuals with too much self-confidence may not know when to admit they are wrong or in need of self-improvement.

Nate’s Monday Morning Message - the Month of Miracles

Giving back is a priority in the RE/MAX culture. All over the world, RE/MAX agents make a difference in their communities - volunteering, donating money, contributing time and ultimately changing lives.

For the last few years, our offices have participated in an annual “Month of Miracles” throughout the month of August. This is a month-long fundraising event is designed to raise much-need money to support our local Phoenix Children’s Hospital as well as raise awareness in our community.

Last year our Month of Miracles event raised over $15,000 and our office made a total contribution to Phoenix Children’s Hospital of $44,160.20! We were recognized by RE/MAX LLC for being the highest contributing office in the Southwest Region (Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico) to the Children’s Miracle Network, and our local Phoenix Children's Hospital and to date our office has contributed more than $500,000 to PCH – which is an accomplishment we couldn’t do without amazing people like you.

Please help us reach out goal of ONE MILLION PENNIES for the “Month of Miracles” in August, 2018. You can drop by any one of our four offices to participate in our fundraising efforts, or you can make a donation online by clicking here.

On behalf of all the kids at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, we thank you in advance for your support in helping us achieve this goal for our community!

RE/MAX Professionals Celebrates August as the Month of Miracles

Giving back is a priority in the RE/MAX culture. All over the world, RE/MAX agents make a difference in their communities - volunteering, donating money, contributing time and ultimately changing lives.

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals) raises funds and awareness for 170-member hospitals that provide 32 million treatments each year to kids across the U.S. and Canada. Donations stay local to fund critical treatments and healthcare services, pediatric medical equipment and charitable care.

We are excited to announce that our offices will be participating in our fourth annual “Month of Miracles” throughout the month of August. This is a month-long fundraising event is designed to raise much-need money to support our local Phoenix Children’s Hospital as well as raise awareness in our community.

“Children’s hospitals depend on local donations — like those from RE/MAX agents participating in Miracle Home and Miracle Property programs — to provide the top-of-class care kids deserve,” said John Lauck, president and CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “On behalf of the millions of families impacted by RE/MAX donations, we appreciate each agent’s efforts and thank them for truly making miracles happen in their communities all year long.”

Last year our Month of Miracles event raised over $15,000 and our office made a total contribution to Phoenix Children’s Hospital of $44,160.20! We were recognized by RE/MAX LLC for being the highest contributing office in the Southwest Region (Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico) to the Children’s Miracle Network, and our local Phoenix Children's Hospital!

Each donation helps fund pediatric medical equipment, treatments, charitable care and other healthcare services for local CMN hospitals. As the contributions continue to grow, we are able to aid a larger number of sick and injured children – which is something we take great pride in being able to do for our community.

Please help us reach out goal of ONE MILLION PENNIES for the “Month of Miracles” in August, 2018. You can drop by any one of our four offices to participate in our fundraising efforts, or contact the Nate Martinez Team and we will be happy to pick up your donation.

On behalf of all the kids at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, we thank you in advance for your support in helping us achieve this goal for our community!

Nate Martinez of RE/MAX Professionals Makes 2018 NAHREP Top 250 Latino Agents List!

The National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP®) recently released its seventh annual Top 250 Latino Agents Report recognizing outstanding Latino real estate agents from around the country. For the fourth year in a row, RE/MAX, the world’s most productive real estate network, led all other brands with the most rankings in the NAHREP Top 250 Latino Agents and Top 100 Latino Real Estate Teams lists. In its seventh year of publication, the annual report honors top-producing participating Latino agents and real estate teams in the U.S. based on 2017 residential transaction sides and volume.

"Hispanics are driving growth in the real estate market at all levels," said Daisy Lopez-Cid, NAHREP President. "It's a privilege for NAHREP to recognize the agents and teams that are making a massive impact in their respective markets and facilitating the dream of homeownership a reality for thousands of families."

Nominations for the Top 250 came from every major market in the nation, with Chicago, El Paso, San Antonio, Las Vegas, and Austin leading the way as the most represented cities on the list. The top 250 agents were selected based on their total transactions and total volume for 2017, verified by NAHREP and other third-party sources. An impressive 75 RE/MAX associates were recognized on the Top 250 list, as ranked by transaction sides and Nate Martinez of RE/MAX Professionals is honored to have made this list ranked at number 42 nationally.

“This year’s NAHREP Top 250 Agents Report includes aggregate sales of more than $4 billion in 2017,” said Mike Reagan, RE/MAX Senior Vice President, Business Alliances. “Hispanic buyers, sellers and real estate professionals are experiencing exceptional growth and influence in our local markets and continue to positively change our industry. Being so well represented in this survey year after year speaks to the diversity and high productivity of the RE/MAX network.”

The Top 250 Agents will receive special distinction at the 2018 NAHREP National Convention at L'ATTITUDE, and the Top 10 Agents will be publicly recognized at an awards ceremony at the convention on September 8 – 11, 2018. NAHREP takes all nominations into consideration prior to announcing final results. In addition to broker attestation, sales data submitted is independently verified for accuracy and consistency with reporting methodology. Nate's Monday Morning Message

Nate’s Monday Morning Message

Welcome to this week’s Monday Morning Message! It is Monday morning again - Are we prepared for the successes we will have this week? Are we prepared to overcome the obstacles in our way this week? Are we prepared to do what works and change what does not this week?

I would encourage each of you to take fifteen minutes this morning to set your goals for this new week. What would you like to accomplish in business and in your personal lives? How will you accomplish these goals? Also, make a list of the things you will NOT do because you know those will not further your goals. What will you do instead? Stick to these lists and see what happens.

Take control over yourself and your actions and get going. Let’s make it a great week!

ENCOURAGEMENT CORNER

A group of frogs were traveling through the woods, and two of them fell into a deep pit. When the other frogs saw how deep the pit was, they told the two frogs that they were as good as dead. The two frogs ignored the comments and tried to jump up out of the pit with all their might. The other frogs kept telling them to stop, that they were as good as dead. Finally, one of the frogs took heed to what the other frogs were saying and gave up. He fell down and died.

The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Once again, the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and just die. He jumped even harder and finally made it out. When he got out, the other frogs said, "Did you not hear us?" The frog explained to them that he was deaf. He thought they were encouraging him the entire time.

This story teaches two lessons:

1. There is power of life and death in the tongue. An encouraging word to someone who is down can lift them up and help them make it through the day.

2. A destructive word to someone who is down can be what it takes to kill them.

Be careful of what you say. Speak life to those who cross your path. The power of words...it is sometimes hard to understand that an encouraging word can go such a long way. Anyone can peak words that tend to rob another of the spirit to continue in difficult times. Special is the individual who will take the time to encourage another. Author Unknown

June 2018 RE/MAX National Housing Report

We’re already halfway through 2018 and the housing prices are at record highs, while inventory is at record lows and home sales are trailing 2017’s pace, according to the RE/MAX National Housing Report. June sales were 5.5 percent lower than June 2017 in the fifty-four metro areas surveyed, marking the seventh consecutive month of year-over-year declines.

Headed in the opposite direction, the June Median Sales Price of $258,500 was an all-time high in the nine-year history of the report. It was 5.1 percent higher than the $245,000 recorded last June, bringing the consecutive months of year-over-year price increases to 27. In each of the previous five years – going back to June 2013’s $193,750 – June has posted the highest Median Sales Price of the year.

Forty-two of the fifty-four metro areas reported a year-over-year drop in inventory. That years-long trend is reflected in Months Supply of Inventory dropping to 2.7 – down 8.8 percent year-over-year and the smallest figure ever recorded for June. Fewer houses for sale generally results in a faster process: Homes sold in June averaged just forty-two Days on Market – five days less than June 2017 and three days under the previous nine-year low of forty-five days.

“Year-over-year prices have been climbing for more than two years now, which is great news for homeowners and sellers,” said RE/MAX CEO Adam Contos. “In the hottest markets, demand is especially high because there simply aren’t that many homes for sale. The slower sales figures we’re seeing are tied to inventory more than anything else. Lack of inventory has become a theme for the year. Having fewer homes to choose from poses a challenge for buyers, who need to be ready to act decisively and quickly. Working with a full-time, professional RE/MAX agent can prepare them for that.”
