Nate's Monday Message

Nate's Monday Message

Welcome to this edition of Nate's Monday Morning Message. This week and every week we have the opportunity to build the life that WE want. You need to become very clear on what it is that you wish to accomplish in life. Focus on the big picture items - Relationships, Business, Health, Spirituality, Money, etc. You need to become clear on where you want to be and how you want to live your life and then you can dig deeper into the specifics.

Picture the destination and what it will be like and then you can set the road-map to success. Things will change along the way and roadblocks will appear. The best part of your journey is that you can decide what to do along the way. This is your journey and YOU need to be responsible for it. Once you come to this realization you will understand that all of the roadblocks and challenges are just things to get through. They will always be less important than your destination. Let's Make This The Best Week Of The Year!

In this article, Sports and Performance Psychologist “Justin Sua” tells us what it takes to be mentally strong enough to take on the big wigs in the arena.  Are you mentally tough enough?

1) They don’t feel sorry for themselves:
They understand that complaining doesn’t make the situation better. They know that people won’t treat them they way they want to be treated, circumstances might not be ideal, and they will experience adversity; however, rather than complain about the negative aspects of their situation, they focus on what they want to happen and what they’re going to do about it.

2) They don’t give people power over them:
They are not people pleasers. They are relentless in their pursuit of their passion and aren’t worried about what other people think. They give power to what they focus on, and if they waste their time focusing on the opinions of others, they lose sight of the things that will make them truly successful.

3) They don’t avoid change:
They are always looking for ways to evolve. They believe that if they continue to give their best, their best will continue to get better over time. With the competition continuing to get bigger, stronger, faster, and smarter; it’s important to have the mindset to improve by learning from successes and failures.

4) They don’t play small:
The mentally tough swing for the fences and know that it might mean striking out a few times (or many times). Their purpose for achieving greatness casts away their fear of failure. They refuse to tip-toe through life, they intend on creating a legacy for the future by making an impact in the here-and-now.

5) They don’t focus on things they can’t control:
They refuse to waste time focusing on things they can’t control because there is nothing they can do about it! They understand that the less control a person feels the more susceptible they are to making poor decisions, falling into bad habits, and crumbling under pressure.

Nate's Monday Morning Message

Welcome to Nate's Monday Morning Message. This week and every week we have the opportunity to put ourselves in a position to grow. Your thinking and your self-confidence will determine what you can achieve. If you think you can - You at least have a good start to achieve. Yes, you will need other things such as knowledge, effort, determination, along with other things. It does all start with your confidence to achieve and that is what you need to focus on now. What can you do just a little better? Do It! What do you want to do that you have not yet?

Do it! Free yourself from the barriers you have placed around you and expand your thinking. The worst thing that can occur is that you find a way that did not work and you move on to another. Just try and try again and again and again until you reach what you are looking to accomplish. Do not worry about the judgments of others they are not trying to do what you are. Do not concern yourself with the lack of resources at the beginning as you will find them along the way. Focus on your new goal and work to achieve it. Let's Make This The Best Week Of The Year!!!

There was a business executive who was deep in debt and could see no way out. Creditors were closing in on him. Suppliers were demanding payment. He sat on the park bench, head in hands, wondering if anything could save his company from bankruptcy. Suddenly an old man appeared before him. ”I can see that something is troubling you,” he said. After listening to the executive’s woes, the old man said, “I believe I can help you.” He asked the man his name, wrote out a check, and pushed it into his hand saying, “Take this money. Meet me here exactly one year from today, and you can pay me back at that time.” Then he turned and disappeared as quickly as he had come. The business executive saw in his hand a check for $500,000, signed by John D. Rockefeller, then one of the richest men in the world! “I can erase my money worries in an instant!” he realized. But instead, the executive decided to put the uncashed check in his safe. Just knowing it was there might give him the strength to work out a way to save his business, he thought. With renewed optimism, he negotiated better deals and extended terms of payment. He closed several big sales. Within a few months, he was out of debt and making money once again.

Exactly one year later, he returned to the park with the uncashed check. At the agreed-upon time, the old man appeared. But just as the executive was about to hand back the check and share his success story, a nurse came running up and grabbed the old man. “I’m so glad I caught him!” she cried. “I hope he hasn’t been bothering you. He’s always escaping from the rest home and telling people he’s John D. Rockefeller.” And she led the old man away by the arm. The astonished executive just stood there, stunned. All year long he’d been wheeling and dealing, buying and selling, convinced he had half a million dollars behind him. Suddenly, he realized that it wasn’t the money, real or imagined, that had turned his life around. It was his new-found self-confidence that gave him the power to achieve anything he went after.

“There are only two rules for being successful. One, figure out exactly what you want to do, and two, do it.” - Mario Cuomo

Nate's Monday Message

Nate’s Monday Message

Welcome to this edition of Nate's Monday Message. This week and every week we have the opportunity to knock one out of the park once in a while. Being consistent and continuously moving forward are key elements to success, but once in a while doing something dramatic that will catapult you forward is called for. Is there anything in your life now that needs a dramatic boost or sincere focused effort?

Work it into your plan and have a swing. You can do it! Don't just walk forward everyday - sometimes you need to run. Take this week to plan your big move forward. You will know what needs to be done and you just need to say now is the time. Think bigger! You need to stretch your mind, your thoughts, your actions, your decisions. Let's Make This The Best Week Of The Year!

The Alphabet of Life:

Accept others for who they are and for the choices they’ve made even if you have difficulty understanding their beliefs, motives, or actions.

Break away from everything that stands in the way of what you hope to accomplish with your life.

Create a family of friends whom you can share your hopes, dreams, sorrows, and happiness with.

Decide that you’ll be successful and happy come what may, and good things will find you. The roadblocks are only minor obstacles along the way.

Explore and experiment. The world has much to offer, and you have much to give. And every time you try something new, you’ll learn more about yourself.

Forgive and forget. Grudges only weigh you down and inspire unhappiness and grief. Soar above it, and remember that everyone makes mistakes.

Leave the childhood monsters behind. They can no longer hurt you or stand in your way.

Hope for the best and never forget that anything is possible as long as you remain dedicated to the task.

Ignore the negative voice inside your head. Focus instead on your goals and remember your accomplishments. Your past success is only a small inkling of what the future holds.

Journey to new worlds, new possibilities, by remaining open-minded. Try to learn something new every day, an you’ll grow.

Know that no matter how bad things seem, they’ll always get better. The warmth of spring always follows the harshest winter.

Let love fill your heart instead of hate. When hate is in your heart, there’s room for nothing else, but when love is in your heart, there’s room for endless happiness.

Manage your time and your expenses wisely, and you’ll suffer less stress and worry. Then you’ll be able to focus on the important things in life.

Never ignore the poor, infirm, helpless, weak, or suffering. Offer your assistance when possible, and always your kindness and understanding.

Open your eyes and take in all the beauty around you. Even during the worst of times, there’s still much to be thankful for.

Never forget to have fun along the way. Success means nothing without happiness.

Ask many questions, because you’re here to learn.

Refuse to let worry and stress rule your life, and remember that things always have a way of working out in the end.

Share your talent, skills, knowledge, and time with others. Everything that you invest in others will return to you many times over.

Even when your dreams seem impossible to reach, try anyway. You’ll be amazed by what you can accomplish.

Use your gifts to your best ability. Talent that’s wasted has no value. Talent that’s used bill bring unexpected rewards.

Value the friends and family members who’ve supported and encouraged you, and be there for them as well.

Work hard every day to be the best person you can be, but never feel guilty if you fall short of your goals. Every sunrise offers a second chance.

Look deep inside the hearts of those around you and you’ll see the goodness and beauty within.

Yield to commitment. If you stay on track and remain dedicated, you’ll find success at the end of the road.

Zoom to a happy place when bad memories or sorrow rears its ugly head. Let nothing interfere with your goals. Instead, focus on your abilities, your dreams, and a brighter tomorrow.

New FHA Changes Could Mean You Now Qualify

by Nate Martinez

New FHA Changes Could Mean You Now Qualify

Federal Housing Administration (FHA) has made changes to their guidelines that could mean you now qualify after an economic hardship.

Under the typical FHA guidelines, a borrower must wait at least 3 years before they can qualify for a new FHA loan. However under these changes, a borrow may qualify in as little as 12 months after what they consider an economic event, such as a bankruptcy, foreclosure, deed-in-lieu or short sale.

There are a few requirements a borrower will have to meet in order to qualify under these new “economic event” guidelines:

  • Loss of employment or signification loss of household income beyond their control
  • Must demonstrate full recovery from the event for 12 consecutive months
  • Must complete housing counseling

If you have experienced any of these economic events, you may be eligible for an FHA loan under the changes to the guidelines – even if you stopped making payments during a short sale – you may be eligible to buy a home now. If you would like to learn more about your ability to qualify, please give me a call today. Nate

Nate's Monday Message

by Nate Martinez

Nate's Monday Message

Welcome to Nate's Monday Messag. This week and every week we have the opportunity to allow the great positive influences around us to rub off on us. Instead of focusing all the time on getting rid of the negative, let us spend equal time focusing on highlighting the positive. Spend more time with inspirational people. Read more books or articles about great accomplishments. Focus your efforts on positive thoughts instead of negative people. Wish everyone well and try to help them, but focus on your positive energy and it will touch more people than you know. We are the decision makers in our lives and we are the ones who decide if we will be happy or not. It's that simple. Let's Make This The Best Week Of The Year!

One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us! My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, really friendly. So I asked, “Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!” This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, “The Law of the Garbage Truck.” He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage (frustration, anger, and disappointment, etc.). As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they’ll dump it on you. Don’t take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don’t take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets.

The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day. Life’s too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so… love the people who treat you right & pray for the ones who don’t. Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it! Have a Great and Garbage-FREE Day.

“No one else 'makes us angry.' We make ourselves angry when we surrender control of our attitude. What someone else may have done is irrelevant. We choose, not they. They merely put our attitude to a test.” — Jim Rohn

Top 250 Latino Agents

by Nate Martinez

Top 250 Latino Agents

Last week RE/MAX, LLC announced the Top 250 Latino Agents according to the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) - more RE/MAX agents made the list than any other real estate brand.

The 33 RE/MAX agents on the NAHREP Top 250 Latino Agents closed a combined 2,874 transactions with an average of 87.1 transactions each. The list is compiled through broker affirmed self-nominations, and through NAHREP's search of the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) records. Sales production data was reviewed for more than 27,000 agents across all markets. It is a great honor to be among those named this year.

I wouldn't be able to share this success without the continued support of the many families I have helped over the years with their real estate needs. It is because of your loyality and trust, I am able to put my name among the talented and dedicated agents who make up the Top 250 Latino Agents for 2012. Thank you again! Nate
