Arizona is Celebrating 100 Years!

This weekend you don’t want to miss out on Arizona ’s “Best Fest” in downtown Phoenix to celebrate 100 years of statehood. To honor the great place many of us call home, the city of Phoenix will host three event filled days at our State Capitol Mall. As a native to Arizona, I am both proud and excited to be a part of such an important milestone in our history. Congratulations and Happy Birthday Arizona!

Saturday and Sunday, February 11-12th 
Saturday events will run from 12:00noon until 10:00pm and Sunday events will run 12:00noon until 6:00pm. Admission is free!

  • Live entertainment includes headliners like Jerry Riopelle, Michelle Branch, Gin Blossoms and George Benson
  • Centennial “Best Fest” Motorcycle Ride
  • Arts & Crafts, Education Pavilions, Family Fun Zone, Beer & Wine Gardens

Arizona’s official birthday is Tuesday, February 14th. The celebration will continue with an Arizona American Indians Sunrise Ceremony, an Reenactment of Governor George W.P Hunt’s Walk to Capitol, plus a Happy Birthday ceremony featuring Governor Brewer.

Tuesday, February 14th starting at 9:00am – 3:00pm at the Senate & House Lawns:

  • 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 a.m. at Phoenix City Hall: Arizona American Indians Sunrise Ceremony (Sunrise Is At 7:12am)
  • 7:45 a.m. – 8:45 a.m. beginning at Phoenix City Hall: Reenactment of Governor George W.P. Hunt’s Walk to Capitol
  • 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Senate & House Lawns:
  • 9:00am – 9:45am Happy Birthday Ceremony with Governor Brewer
  • 10:00am – 10:30am USPS First Day Issue Ceremony
  • 1:00pm – 2:00pm Polly Rosenbaum Writing Contest Winners & Award
  • 2:00pm – 3:00pm Wayne Newton
