Nate’s Monday Morning Message

Welcome to Nate’s Monday Message…what an exciting weekend of events happening at the Olympic Games in Rio! If you are like me, you don’t watch anything but the Olympics and skip between channels to catch all your favorite events. I have so much respect for all the athletes from across the world that are the very definition of what it means to be committed to their goals.

According to historical records, the first Olympic Games can be traced back to 776 BC, and they were said to be have been dedicated to the Olympian Gods. Today we are celebrating the thirty-first modern Olympics over 124 years of the greatest athletes creating history for those to come. This short video is a mix of some of the best Olympic moments throughout history. I am inspired by these amazing men and women…I am inspired to become a better version of myself, to become a champion. Are you? Let’s make it a great week!

“Unity is strength... when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved.” - Mattie Stepanek

“Champions are not the ones who always win races - champions are the ones who get out there and try. And try harder the next time. And even harder the next time. 'Champion' is a state of mind. They are devoted. They compete to best themselves as much if not more than they compete to best others. Champions are not just athletes.” - Simon Sinek

“The Olympic Gold medal in 1968 was definitely the highest moment of my career. It was a dream come true. I was a 19-year-old boy, and it was just amazing to be standing on top of the podium and hearing the National Anthem in the background.” - George Foreman

“The feeling of accomplishment welled up inside of me, three Olympic gold medals. I knew that was something nobody could ever take away from me, ever.” - Wilma Rudolph

“Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.”- Dan Gable
