Nate’s Monday Morning Message

Welcome to Nate’s Monday Morning Message! Today marks the first day of spring, and that means warmer weather and longer days are ahead. It has always been an important day for farmers, as it signifies the beginning of the season. Here in the Valley of the Sun, the desert floor is in full bloom; it is magical how it transforms into a wonderland of vibrant colors that we only see during the spring.

This time of year, represents a renewal to the world around us, and a time for planting new ideas. For those of us who start out the new year with a long list of resolutions, this is a great time to reflect, refocus and recommit. What new ideas do you have waiting to blossom? Spring is the perfect time to let them come to life. Let’s make it a great week!

Believe the Impossible

Every great achievement was once impossible until someone set a goal to make it a reality.

Lewis Carroll's famous masterpiece Through the Looking Glass contains a story that exemplifies the need to dream the impossible dream. There is a conversation between Alice and the queen, which goes like this:

"I can't believe that!" said Alice.

"Can't you?" the queen said in a pitying tone. "Try again, draw a long breath, and shut your eyes."

Alice laughed. "There's no use trying," she said. "One can't believe impossible things."

"I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

When you dare to dream, many marvels can be accomplished. The trouble is, most people never start dreaming their impossible dream.

“The air is like a butterfly, with frail blue wings. The happy earth looks at the sky and sings.” Joyce Kilmer, Spring

“Spring is nature's way of saying, 'Let's party!'” - Robin Williams

“I believe in process. I believe in four seasons. I believe that winter's tough, but spring's coming. I believe that there's a growing season. And I think that you realize that in life, you grow. You get better.” - Steve Southerland

“The spring wakes us, nurtures us and revitalizes us. How often does your spring come? If you are a prisoner of the calendar, it comes once a year. If you are creating authentic power, it comes frequently, or very frequently.” - Gary Zukav
