Nate’s Monday Morning Message

Welcome to this week’s Monday Morning Message! We are twenty days away from a New Year – are you ready? I know that this time of year is busy with holiday fun, however I hope you will make time to reflect on the months that have past and prepare for what is to come in 2018. What went right in 2017? What goals did you accomplish? What goals did not get done, and why? What do you want to change in 2018? In order to live the life we want to live, we have to spend time working on our goals – it’s not enough to say what you want to do – you have to create a plan and take action. Let’s make it a great week!

ENCOURAGEMENT CORNER

A Long Time Ago There Was a Great Shah

A long time ago there was a great shah. He ordered to build a beautiful palace which had many wonderful things in it. Among other curiosities in the palace there was a hall, where all the walls, the sealing, the door and even the floor were made of mirror. The mirrors were so clear and smooth that visitors didn’t understand at once that there was a mirror in front of them – so accurately the mirrors would reflect the objects. Moreover, the walls of this hall were made in a way that they created an extraordinary increased echo.

Once, a dog ran into the hall and froze in surprise in the middle of the hall, a whole pack of dogs surrounded it from all sides, from above and below. Just in case, the dog bared his teeth- and all the reflections responded to it in the same way. Frightened, the dog frantically barked – the echo imitated the bark and increased it many times. The dog barked even harder – and the echo was keeping up. The dog tossed from one side to another, biting the air- his reflections also tossed around snapping their teeth.

In the morning, the guards found the miserable dog, lifeless and surrounded by a million reflections of lifeless dogs. There was nobody, who would make any harm to the dog. The dog died by fighting with his own reflections.

The world doesn’t bring good or evil on its own. Everything that is happening around us is the reflection of our own thoughts, feelings, wishes and actions. The world is a big mirror.

WORDS OF INSPIRATION

“At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.” – Albert Schweitzer

“There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.” - Edith Wharton

“Christmas is the spirit of giving without a thought of getting. It is happiness because we see joy in people. It is forgetting self and finding time for others. It is discarding the meaningless and stressing the true values.” - Thomas S. Monson

Nate’s Monday Morning Message

Welcome to this week’s Monday Morning Message! Things are getting into full swing with parties, decorations and our favorite holiday movies. And we are hoping while you are in the spirit of giving that you will help us with a food drive to benefit St. Mary’s Food Bank.

This year, the food banks across the U.S. are in need, after the multiple natural disasters that hit Texas, Florida, and Puerta Rico. Sadly, Arizona ranks third in the country for high child food insecurities, meaning that thousands of children face hunger on a daily basis. Throughout the month of December we are collecting donations at each office locations, or you can make a monetary donation online by clicking here. Every penny counts; every dollar makes a difference! Let’s make it a great week!

ENCOURAGEMENT CORNER

If we were given 86,400 dollars every day to spend any way we could
And at the end of the day what we didn't spend would be lost to us for good,

What would we do? We wouldn't have to think too hard, or engage in a long discourse
We would take that money, go right out and spend it all, of course!

Each day we are given 86,400 seconds, it's been this way for centuries.
86,400 seconds every day- do with as we please.

There is one caveat, you might say this gift comes with a hidden cost
Whatever time we don't use wisely, at the end of the day is lost.

Yes, it's free and it's ours to spend, no strings attached...however
Whatever time we lose today is time that's lost forever.

Yet such is the nature of this gift- true our daily seconds don't accrue
That when we wake the next morning- each day we start anew.

I believe the lesson we are shown here- since there's no way to extend them
The 86,400 seconds are less important- than how we choose to spend them.

Nate’s Monday Morning Message

Welcome to this week’s Monday Morning Message! I hope that each of you reading this had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration, and that you enjoyed the long weekend with family, friends and holiday traditions. The New Year is right around the corner and this is a great time to begin thinking about your 2018 goals.

All of us at one point in time have set a New Year’s resolution, or in other words a goal for the New Year…such as joining a gym, saving more money or finding a new job. If you plan to set some new goals for yourself in 2018, try using the S.M.A.R.T. system to help you get there…

Make your goals Specific: be crystal clear with what you want to accomplish.

Your goals need to be Meaning: a goal needs to be personal and important to you. Know why you want to do it before you decide to make it a goal.

What Actions do you need to take in order to accomplish your goals?

And lastly, your goals need to be Time-bound, or in other words when do you want to accomplish them by?

I hope you find these tips helpful in creating goals to help you succeed in 2018! Let’s make it a great week!

ENCOURAGEMENT CORNER

Strength or Weakness?

Sometimes your biggest weakness can become your biggest strength. Take, for example, the story of one 10-year-old boy who decided to study judo despite the fact that he had lost his left arm in a devastating car accident.

The boy began lessons with an old Japanese judo master. The boy was doing well, so he couldn't understand why, after three months of training the master had taught him only one move.

"Sensei," the boy finally said, "Shouldn't I be learning more moves?"

"This is the only move you know, but this is the only move you'll ever need to know," the sensei replied.

Not quite understanding, but believing in his teacher, the boy kept training.

Several months later, the sensei took the boy to his first tournament. Surprising himself, the boy easily won his first two matches. The third match proved to be more difficult, but after some time, his opponent became impatient and charged; the boy deftly used his one move to win the match. Still amazed by his success, the boy was now in the finals.

This time, his opponent was bigger, stronger, and more experienced. For a while, the boy appeared to be overmatched. Concerned that the boy might get hurt, the referee called a time-out. He was about to stop the match when the sensei intervened.

"No," the sensei insisted, "Let him continue."

Soon after the match resumed, his opponent made a critical mistake: he dropped his guard. Instantly, the boy used his move to pin him. The boy had won the match and the tournament. He was the champion.

On the way home, the boy and sensei reviewed every move in each and every match. Then the boy summoned the courage to ask what was really on his mind.

"Sensei, how did I win the tournament with only one move?"

"You won for two reasons," the sensei answered. "First, you've almost mastered one of the most difficult throws in all of judo. And second, the only known defense for that move is for your opponent to grip your left arm."

The boy's biggest weakness had become his biggest strength.

Nate’s Monday Morning Message

Welcome to this week’s Monday Morning Message! Thanksgiving is upon us friends, and before we know it 2017 will be coming to a close. As the hustle and bustle of the season gets underway, I hope you will take some time this week to be intentionally grateful for the abundance in your life. Abundance doesn’t always equal money…it can be as simple as a meaningful conversation over a cup of coffee, or the beautiful sunrise you witnessed as you began your day, or the pitter patter of little feet scampering across the floor in your home.

We tend to focus our thoughts about abundance in regard to money or material possessions…when in fact abundance comes in all shapes and forms, and true abundance can’t be bought or sold because it is an attitude that that lives inside of us. Wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving! Let’s make it a great week!

Be Thankful – Author Unknown

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire ... if you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don't know something ... for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times ... during those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations ... they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge... which will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes ... they will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you're tired and weary ... because it means you've given your all.

It's easy to be thankful for the 'good' things ... yet, a life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are thankful for the setbacks.

Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive ... find a way to be thankful for your troubles and they can become your blessings.

Nate’s Monday Morning Message

“Life is 10 percent what happens to you and 90 percent how you react to it.” Charles R. Swindoll

Welcome to this week’s edition of Nate’s Monday Morning Message…90 percent of what happens to us is merely our emotions or how we label what we perceive…is it good or bad? Stressful or joyful? Rewarding or draining? However we label it, we ultimately get to choose. And I hope as you move about your week, you will think about this quote and how you can choose your emotions or reaction to what is happening around you. Remember, life is neither good nor bad…only your perception to your reality. Let's make it a great week!

ENCOURAGEMENT CORNER

Choices

There comes a time in your life, when you must decide,

No help from anyone, on which you've always relied.

Between right and wrong, between black and white,

Between good and bad, to walk away or fight.

To be honest and true. to be open with your heart, Or to hide your feelings, play it safe from the start.

To sit back and watch, to listen and learn,
Or jump into the fire, taking a chance on a burn.

To stay. to move. to not care, or always prove.

To be strong, to be weak, to be aggressive, to be meek.

To laugh out loud with all your might, or smile a little just to be polite.

To stay together. to live apart. to think with your mind, or trust your with heart.

To live in the past. to always look back, to look ahead to the future, with ambition you won't lack.

Begun at the front. or start at the end, believe in your own self, or follow the trend.

To dream. to hope, to quit, to cope. To be a lover, to be a friend to be real, or just pretend.

Choices we make can make or break, to have to decide at all could be our worst fall.

Choices are sometimes deceiving, you can be lured by the sweetest bait.

So make your decision wisely, because to change your mind could be too late.

Nate's Monday Morning Message

Happy Halloween! Welcome to this week’s Monday Morning Message. Ready or not, the holiday season is officially here, and hopefully cooler temperatures for the Valley of the Sun. As spooky as that may seem, the last two months of the year are full of opportunities - and there is still time to hit the goals you have set for yourself this year. Don’t put your life on cruise control through the holiday season! Let’s make it a great week!

5 Weird Things You Probably Didn’t Know About Hallowee

1. Originally, you had to dance for your treat. In European, the practice of “mumming” or “guysing” meant a costume-wearer would go door-to-door performing dances in exchange for treats.

2. Halloween is more Irish than St. Patrick’s Day. Halloween’s origin comes from a Celtic festival, and people would leave treats for the spirits that roamed the earth

3. Jack-o’-lanterns were once made out of turnips, beets and potatoes. Based on the myth of Stingy Jack, the Irish carved scary faces into these veggies to scare him away.

4. In 1898 Herman Goelitz Confectionary Company invented candy corn. Today, nearly 35 millin pounds of candy corn are produced each year.

5. Halloween was a great day to find your soulmate. In some parts of Ireland, people played romantic fortune-telling games, which allegedly predicted who they would marry.

WORDS OF INSPIRATION

“Halloween is an opportunity to be really creative.” - Judy Gold

“Acting is like a Halloween mask that you put on.” - River Phoenix

“I only eat candy on Halloween. No lie.” - Michael Trevino

“Being in a band you can wear whatever you want - it's like an excuse for Halloween every day.” - Gwen Stefani

“As a kid, there are some things you looked forward to. You looked forward to Charlie Brown during Halloween and you looked forward to Monday Night Football.” - Nick Ferguson

Nate's Monday Morning Message

Welcome to this week’s Monday Morning Message! I just returned from three full days of training in the beautiful city of Salt Lake, Utah. After thirty-one years of selling real estate, I have never stopped learning and honing my skills as a professional. What is that saying…if you aren’t learning, you are dying? Every day we are given opportunities to learn, no matter the industry or profession. What can you learn this week? Let’s make it count!

ENCOURAGEMENT CORNER

One man decided to reach for his dream. But he didn’t have enough strength to do it. So he turned to his mother. “Mother, help me!”

“Darling, I would be glad to help you, but I don’t have it. And everything I have, I already gave to you.”

He asked a wise man, “Master, tell me, where can I get strength?”

“It is said that, it is on the Everest. But I couldn’t find anything there, except the snowy winds. And when I came back, the time was irretrievably lost.”

He asked the hermit, “Holy Father, where to find the strength for realization of my dream?”

“In your prayers, my son. And if your dream is false, you will understand it and find peace in your prayers.” The person asked everyone, but the only result of his searches was confusion.

“Why are you so confused?” asked an old man passing by. “I have a dream, good man. But I don’t know where to find strength for its realization. I asked everyone, but there was no one who could help me.”

“No one?” A light flashed in the old man’s eyes, “And did you ask yourself?”
